Assessment and course tooling for college teaching

Beyond the platform

More tools from Agoge

Smaller, more focused projects for advising, tutoring and research. Each is at a different stage, and each says so.

§ 1

Agoge Academic Advisor

A degree plan that finishes on time.

Program requirements, courses that rotate by term, prerequisites, and a student who needs all of it to line up before the funding runs out. The advisor reads the requirements and the schedule and builds a term-by-term plan that completes on time, then points out the electives that actually fit.

It is running as a pilot with one graduate program, kept narrow until the workflow is proven. The reasoning runs on our own hardware, so student records stay in the building.

§ 2

LedgerLearner

An accounting tutor that will not give you the answer.

A student picks a topic, the tutor poses a scenario, and the student proposes the journal entry. The tutor then questions the reasoning and points at the gap, and never states the answer. The student gets there on their own.

Holding that line against students who are trying to talk the answer out of it is the hard part, and it is what the current phase is testing.

§ 3

FirstRead

Checks a research paper before a journal does.

Does every citation exist? Has anything cited been retracted? Do the numbers in the tables agree with the numbers in the text? FirstRead answers those questions before submission.

The first tier uses no model judgment at all. Every finding is checked against Crossref and OpenAlex, so each flag can be traced to a record.
